Our programs

Our community outreach efforts focus on breaking the gang cycle in the family unit and dissuade at-risk youth from joining gangs. If we can make a difference in one person’s life, we can have a generational impact on that individual as well as their family.

GOOD supports and participates in the following outreach efforts:

  • Fund Brookshire Park summer program

  • Help fund Downey Police school resource program

  • Sponsor the “Officer Ricardo Galvez Memorial Golf Tournament” – proceeds help fund scholarships for graduating high school seniors

  • Host community BBQ and Backpack giveaway to school children

  • Provide Thanksgiving meals to at-risk youth and their families

  • Sponsor public safety town hall meetings

  • Kids & Cops day sponsor

  • Provide networking opportunities and mentor at-risk youth

  • Host annual gangs out of downey luncheon
